For Spring 2025, we are honored to share the world of Shanghai-based painter Ma’Er Olive.

Drawing inspiration from the concept of Qi, which represents the fundamental energy present in everything and the dynamic flow of life, Ma Er’s work embodies the essence of Breath — breathing, exchanging, communicating, absorbing, and flowing in rhythm.

For her, life transforms into energy that contracts and expands along soft, indistinct boundaries, moving through the limits of the body.

Ma Er captures these energetic flows of perception and intuition on canvas. She views Breath as a concept deeply intertwined with time itself.
